Annual Holiday Feast and Slide Show Extravaganza

Hosted by Robin and Blair Francis, 3446 Yonge St., Point Loma. (619) 222-4566

Saturday, December 8, 2001 6:00 PM

You are invited to our annual holiday get-together. It will be an indoor/outdoor potluck and member slide show, a feast for the palate and the eyes. Please bring a home-made dish (ask a friend or neighbor to cook if you're too busy) for six to eight others -- an entree, side dish, salad or dessert. Wine and cheese are okay, too.

We would like to see twelve or so of your favorite slides of 2001. (Bring a coat, because the show will be outdoors.)

We can celebrate the continual discovery of fascinating and beautiful places that photography brings us. We can reminisce about the fine presentations at our meetings this past year and that many of the presenters are members of Photo Section. We can talk about the future and the many options open to Photo Section. How will you participate to strengthen the group and improve your photography?

Come and celebrate with us and extend your appreciation to Robin and Blair for a lovely place to celebrate!

Directions: Take I-8 or I-5 to Rosecrans. Drive west towards Point Loma (past Sports Arena Blvd., Midway Dr., about 17 blocks). Turn right on Zola (streets are in reverse alphabetical order). If you miss Zola, turn right on Xenophon. Drive three blocks to Clove and turn left, if you are on Zola, or right, if you are on Xenophon. 3446 is at the corner of Yonge and Clove. Do not turn on to Yonge from Rosecrans, it dead ends from that side.

Message from the Chair__________

Hello, and happy Holidays, my friends.

Our Holiday Party will be hosted by Robin and Blair Francis at their Point Loma home. It is an outdoor potluck; so bring jackets, food, and slides. How about sharing some images depicting winter and the Holiday theme?

SCPS is a democracy of its members and I solicit your opinions. We've been moving the Club in a new direction, with faster paced shows, music, photojournalism, portraiture, and a bevy of new equipment. Please let me know what you think of this new direction via my e-mail, photoloco@juno.com. We need your input to steer the course as a majority.

Speaking of input, HELP! We need a new Viewfinder editor immediately. I strongly feel The Viewfinder is an important catalyst in our club and we do not want to see it disappear. It will; unless somebody helps, this is the next-to-the-last issue. Contact Carolyn Barkow at itzmeee@home.com and she will show you how she has done it all this time. It is fun and a great way to give back to the community. When you look back over your life, it is the little things like this that can make one proud.

So, round up some Holiday pix for our party, e-mail me regarding our clubÕs direction, and become part of what makes SCPS fly by helping with The ViewFinder.

Sincerely,
Steven Cirone
