Desert Committee
Purpose
To ensure protection of our precious public lands resources through campaigns and projects, and by working with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), California State Parks, and other land management agencies to further these objectives.
Example Activities
Work to protect the Algodones Dunes.
Participate in the California Wild Heritage Campaign - From 1999 over 25 of our volunteers have worked actively to identify, field-study, and prepare recommendations for over 20 potential wilderness areas and wild and scenic river segments, and build local support toward passage of bills in the United States Congress.
Meetings 7:00 P.M. the 4th Tuesday of each month.
