Yosemite/Sierra National Forest Bus Trip
Coordinator: Rob Baum robbaum@sbcglobal.net

Our trips this year will take us to the southern end of the park and beyond. We should find less crowds and more solitude in this infrequently visited area. Expect spectacular wildflowers and stunning scenery. The bus will leave the park and ride Thursday afternoon, returning the following Tuesday.

To reserve a space, send your trip preferences and a $25 deposit, or payment in full of $199.00, to: Rob Baum, 808 Maria Ave, Spring Valley, CA 91977. Make checks payable to the Sierra Club. Please include your email address. (If no email, include your evening phone number and 3 SASE's.)

Leader: Mike Fry, Asst: Marty Stevens
This will be a grand tour (44 miles total) Through two mountain ranges of Yosemite . We will cross over the Clark Range, and the Merced/San Juaquin divide. Three passes will provide us with the stunning views we deserve. We shall keep a watchfull eye out for the numerous wild flowers that we are sure to enjoy along the way.

Join us on a scenic, 24-mile rollercoaster ride! We’ll climb from the trailhead (7,240’) to Chiquito Pass (8,000’), and on to Chain Lakes Creek (9,000’). Then, it’s then down to Moraine Meadow (8,800’) and up to the Breeze Lake Chain (9,560’) in the shadow of Gale Peak. After clambering over and down Fernandez Pass (10,175’), we’ll have good views of the Ritter Range as we cross Fernandez (9,000’) and Madera (8,600’) Creeks. Then, we’ll head down the Walton Trail to Clover Meadow (7,000’) with smiles a mile wide.
