Why do we need your contact information?

We publish most alerts by email, but we also mail some alerts, which is one of the reasons we need your mailing address. The other reason is that some of the alerts are localized to a particular city or political district and we need to know your address to know which districts you belong to.

The reason we ask for your phone number is that on rare occasions we will call CAN members to tell them about a particularly urgent issue. We also periodically call members to confirm they are still interested in receiving Alerts. However, we never call or use the list in any way for the purpose of soliciting funds, although we will let you know, in writing only, if funds are being sought for particular purposes related to an Alert, e.g. legal action, and we may ask, again in writing only, for voluntary contributions to help support CAN mailings.
